Register a domain

  1. Search at /domain-search — prices are live, per extension.
  2. Add to cart and check out with your card, or entirely with credits when your balance covers the total.
  3. The domain appears under Domains, usually active within minutes.

DNS records

Open a domain and go to its DNS records. Supported types:

  • A / AAAA — point a name at an IPv4 / IPv6 address
  • CNAME — alias one name to another
  • MX — route mail, with priorities
  • TXT — verification, SPF/DKIM, arbitrary text
  • SRV / CAA / NS — service locations, certificate-authority restrictions, subdomain delegation

From the terminal:

setcloud dns list example.com
setcloud dns add example.com A www 203.0.113.7 --ttl 300
setcloud dns delete example.com <record-id>

TTL, briefly

TTL is how long resolvers cache a record. 300 (5 minutes) while you’re iterating, 3600 (1 hour) as a sane default, 86400 (24 hours) for set-and-forget records. Before a planned change, drop the TTL to 300 a day ahead so the switch is quick.

Domains registered elsewhere

You can manage DNS here without transferring:

  1. Add the domain under Domains.
  2. Prove ownership: add the TXT verification record we give you at your current registrar.
  3. Point the domain’s nameservers at the ones shown in the dashboard. Propagation takes up to 24–48 hours.
  4. Manage all records from SetCloud from then on.
