Transfer a domain to SetCloud

  1. At your current registrar: unlock the domain and request the authorization code (also called an EPP code).
  2. Start the transfer at /domain-transfer — domain name plus the code.
  3. Approve the confirmation email.
  4. Wait. Registry transfers typically complete in 5–7 days.
  5. WHOIS privacy is included free on the transfer, same as on a new registration — there’s nothing to add or pay for separately.

Keep your existing DNS hosting active during transfer. Moving registration does not itself recreate your records in SetCloud. Before changing nameservers, copy and verify the DNS zone, including email records.

Transfer a domain away

  1. Open the domain under Domains and go to the Security tab.
  2. Disable the transfer lock.
  3. Request the authorization code from the same tab.
  4. Hand the code to the new registrar and approve their confirmation.

About authorization codes

The EPP code is the secret that authorizes a transfer. It can be used to authorize a transfer once the other eligibility and lock requirements are met — share it only with the registrar you’re transferring to, at the moment you transfer.
