When it’s required
Identity verification is not part of regular billing setup — you can add a card, deposit credits, and turn on auto-reload without ever verifying.
It’s required in exactly one place: before completing a premium or aftermarket domain order. Checkout checks this server-side, so a premium item can’t slip through unverified regardless of how it’s labeled.
You can verify ahead of time from Billing & Credits so a premium checkout is never held up mid-purchase.
How the check works
Click Verify identity under Billing & Credits. A one-time ID check opens in a new tab; your documents are processed by our verification provider and are never stored by SetCloud. The dashboard polls in the background and flips to verified automatically — no need to refresh.
If it fails
- The check times out or is closed before finishing — click Verify identity again to restart it.
- The verification itself is declined — contact support with the email on your account; there’s no separate appeal flow in the dashboard.
- A premium checkout still shows unverified after you completed the check — give it a few seconds to sync, then retry checkout.
