Compute quickstart
Containers without the ops. Create a service from the terminal, push an image, scale it with a flag.
Prerequisites
- A SetCloud account with billing set up.
- Docker installed locally, and a project with a
Dockerfile.
1. Install the CLI and log in
Download the CLI archive, then install the downloaded file:
npm install -g ./setcloud-cli-0.2.0.tgz
setcloud login
2. Create a service
setcloud services create
The prompt asks for the name, container port, and health-check path. A new service starts with 0.25 vCPU and 512 MB of memory, with zero running tasks until you deploy an image. Compute settings can be updated under Compute → your service → Settings or through the API.
3. Deploy
setcloud deploy my-api
The CLI builds the image from your Dockerfile for Linux x86-64 (linux/amd64), pushes it to your private registry, and rolls the service over to the new build. If you build and upload an image yourself, use docker build --platform linux/amd64; ARM-only and Windows images are not supported for container hosting.
4. Tail the logs
setcloud logs my-api --follow
5. Scale
setcloud scale my-api --count 2
Run 0–10 instances; zero stops compute and suspends autoscaling. Roll back a bad build with setcloud rollback my-api.
Standalone container services are managed under Compute in the dashboard, or through the CLI and API. The dashboard’s Projects view manages repository-backed deployments created through Deployments.

- Set runtime config with
setcloud env set my-api KEY=VALUE— or keep credentials in the Secrets Vault.
