Custom domains
Every project gets an included HTTPS subdomain under setcloud.app, ready for testing or for an app without its own domain. No domain purchase is required. Find the address and its setup status in Projects → your project → Domains.
A custom domain is optional. This page covers how to attach your own address, what DNS to set, and how HTTPS is handled. The included subdomain remains available after you add a custom domain.
Attach a domain
Open Projects → your project → Domains. Link a domain in the selected organization, search for a new one, start a transfer, or add an external domain. Choose an optional subdomain such as www or app.
Keep your existing DNS host
Choose Keep my DNS host — add records. Copy the ownership TXT record from the project into your DNS host, then select Check setup. After verification, copy the HTTPS validation CNAME and the project traffic record displayed there.
A subdomain uses a CNAME. A root domain needs ALIAS, ANAME, or CNAME flattening support from your DNS host. If it lacks that support, use a subdomain or SetCloud nameservers. Leave HTTPS validation records in place for renewal, and use DNS-only records while validating.
Use SetCloud nameservers
Choose Use SetCloud nameservers. The dashboard shows the exact nameservers assigned to your domain. Copy existing email and other DNS records into SetCloud before changing delegation at your registrar. Select Check setup to verify delegation; SetCloud then manages the certificate and project traffic records.
HTTPS and deployment status
Ownership verification, deployment, and HTTPS issuance are separate steps. Your project shows each status and keeps its setup records available after you reload the page. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate. Deploy the project to generate its traffic destination; HTTPS becomes active after ownership and certificate validation complete.
A domain is currently linked to one project at a time. The original project address remains available when a custom domain is attached.
