Templates and support matrix
SetCloud templates are public, licensed GitHub template repositories. Cloning a template creates a new repository owned by you and a pending SetCloud project; your source does not stay attached to SetCloud’s copy.
1. Connect GitHub
Connect a GitHub account with permission to create repositories. In the dashboard, open Projects → New Project → Templates for application starters. Agents start from your own instructions in Agents → Create agent, or your own repository in Agents → Custom code.
2. Create your repository
Choose a template, set the repository and project names, and choose public or private visibility. Only organization owners and admins can create from a template. GitHub rejects a name that already exists under the selected owner.
3. Grant GitHub App access
The clone operation does not silently expand the GitHub App installation. Grant the SetCloud GitHub App access to the new repository, then connect that repository to the pending project. Push-to-deploy is active only after this step.
4. Configure and deploy
The application catalog marks the following starters as Maintained. Review the generated repository and run its checks before deployment. Availability also requires your GitHub connection and repository permissions.
| Template | Use case | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Node.js API | Small JavaScript services | Maintained |
| React Router app | Full-stack React with SSR | Maintained |
| React and Vite | Client-rendered React applications | Maintained |
| Astro content site | Documentation, blogs, portfolios, and marketing | Maintained |
| FastAPI and PostgreSQL | Python APIs with optional pooled PostgreSQL | Maintained |
| Go API | Small compiled HTTP services | Maintained |
Agent templates are not offered. Existing client-authored repositories remain supported.
Maintained template guides
Generated repositories do not receive source updates automatically. Compare your repository with the maintained template when you decide to adopt later changes.
